emails on desktop close between shutdown and restart

I often intentionally have several emails open on my desktop. They are there for a reason so it's annoying when several have often closed after I boot up each day. Why is this? There is no pattern to this, sometimes several will stay open as I left them, others will have closed, meaning that I have to find them again.

Can anybody help please?
