how to transfer Apps from old 1st generation iPad to new 3rd Generation

Getting a new 3rd Generation ipad. Can I transfer Apps from old 1st generation iPad to the new one. If so, how do I do it?

The best way is to setup your old iPad to use iCloud backup. Make sure you have an Apple ID, and under Settings -> iCloud, turn on iCloud Backup. Once it has finished (it usually runs over night while charging and on Wifi) then you can open your new iPad, log into the same iCloud account and choose to Restore from Backup. This will transfer all your apps, photos, etc. from the old to the new.
