Only charges when off

I see countless posts with the same issue, has anyone ever gotten this fixed??

IPad mini will only charge when turned off. Got this thing for Christmas and worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now won't charge unless its turned off. Yes, it is the cord that came with it. Yes it is plugged into the wall. No the cord is not damaged. I would take it in to the "genious" store but its always insanely busy and never have appointments available...

Try a simple reset (no data will be affected) hold down the home and power buttons simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. If that doesn't work, try resetting the settings: Settings>>General>>Reset>>Reset all Settings. (this will set the settings back to factory, but will not delete any data either).
