family sharing vs new account

I'm setting up a new iPad Air. I've always shared an Apple account with my partner. Should I start a new Apple account and use family sharing to be able to get all our music? Or should I just set it up in on the account we already have, even though I don't really want all the contacts info.

I agree with Ethan7988. It is best to not share an Apple ID with someone else. This is especially true if you want to maintain separate Contacts lists or you want to have your data sync across more than one device that you own.

With Family Sharing you do share one credit card for purchases. In a Family that is usually not a problem.
