Settings shows Wifi connection, but there's no Wifi!

This issue appeared last night on my iPhone 5: Settings registers my home Wifi connection as usual, but there is no Wifi icon -- and in fact no Wifi. I confirmed this by turning off cellular data and 3G. Reset doesn't help. Wifi works on all other devices, just not iPhone 5. What's going on??
