Jul 30, 2015 11:15 PM in response to Mr. Bulcroftby Edgar,THe update procedure with Logic is the same as with any other purchase from Apple's App Store. You have to be logged to the same Apple ID that you used to purchase the app with. It functions as your virtual license key.
Hope that helps

Jul 31, 2015 7:17 AM in response to Edgarby Mr. Bulcroft,I would have upgraded by now if the App Store or the Apple store had the upgrades. What it appears to me to be is that they upgraded it but are not allowing upgrades to previous owners of the program instead you have to buy it again. Which I think really ***** as they improve the system to get rid of bugs that were in the 10.0.1 several times but won't allow me to get the improvements. It's not like it's a "new program" . I upgraded from 9 a year or so back and found out all the things I learned had to be re learned with the new X version. Now, no upgrades available. I hope to hear from an apple representative to at least tell me the only way to get it is to buy it again. Then i will search for another product that is less buggy.

Jul 31, 2015 4:35 PM in response to Mr. Bulcroftby The Art Of Sound,Mr Bulcroft,
Firstly all updates so far to Logic Pro X have been free and available to all users.
So....
What you are likely experiencing is known as User Error......
Read carefully what both Niel & Edgar stated in their post. They are absolutely correct........
Note: They are both referring to the Update tab not the Apps tab.....
Further more...
If you cannot find Logic Pro X listed under Updates then....
a) You have moved Logic Pro X out of your Applications folder... Fix: Move the app back into the Applications folder and restart your Mac and try again.
b) You have renamed your Logic Pro X application. Fix: Rename the application back to Logic Pro X and then restart your Mac and try again..
c) You are not signed into the Mac App Store using the same Apple ID you used to purchase it... Fix: Sign out of the Mac App Store using the menu option Store>Sign Out and sign in again using the correct Apple ID. Additionally, watch out for any popups asking you to agree to new terms and conditions when you relaunch the App Store application. You must agree to these new terms.
Failing that, the quick fix is to check if Logic Pro X is listed under the Purchase tab in the Mac App Store application. If it is not then you are not signed into the App Store using the correct Apple ID. See (c)
If it is listed under Purchases as Installed... then delete the Logic Pro X app in Applications... restart your Mac and click on the Download button in the Purchase tab for your Logic Pro X entry there.. (It will change from Installed to Download after you restart your Mac)
You will now be downloading and installing the latest version of Logic Pro X.... which at this time is 10.1.1
Failing all that, contact Apple directly with proof of purchase (email receipt for example) and they will assist you...
Note:
Complaining to or about Apple here, is a waste of your time ..... and ours...
Why doesn't Apple answer the questions that we ask about Logic Pro?
Cheers..
Nigel
