Recovery doesn't see my wireless network

Hello all,

I bought a mac mini4.1 running Snow Leopard from Ebay to use as my media center. Since I bought this used I want to do a clean install and wipe. There doesn't appear to be a recovery partition so that appears to be out, both command R and command R option take me too internet recovery. Once in internet recovery my wireless network is not available from the drop down menu. I scrolled down to the bottom of the choices and picked the "..." option for networks that don't broadcast the SSID but inputting my network info that way didn't work their either.

If I boot all the way into the OS, I can see and connect to my network with airport. What gives?
