I have streaks on my imac screen

I have verticle streaks starting to appear on the right handside of my Imac screen (bought in 2010).

I have been told that as this was from the W8 Factory in China (I believe this to be so as this is on my serial no?) then I can get it replaced for free as this is an issue wit this batch. Am I right?
