Lost all my apps all of a sudden and restart did not help.

I have an iphone5 with ios 8.4. A few minutes ago the screen blinked a few times and suddenly all my apps are gone..! I did try a restart but that did not help, going to try a cloud restore but curious as to why this happened. Anyone here has the similar issue?
