Bought a new Imac 2 days ago from an apple store and when i got home i checked on about my Imac and it says its a late 2013 have I been conned ?

Phone the store and give them the serial number ... and ask them how it meets any description as a new imac.
The current 27" non-Retina iMac is identical to the late 2013 iMac
base model. This could be the reason why it may still be called a
late 2013 since there have been no internal changes other than
shipping with Yosemite.
Probably should check anyway to be sure.
