Editable and non editable apple loops

I noticed that some apple loops (maybe caf files?) aren't editable in Audio/File window so you have to make the bounce in place, whereas other loops are editable (maybe aiff-C files?)

Is this the reason? The file format?

What version of LPX? I don't see a Hip Hop Bounce Organ. Not sure what you mean by "editable". What exactly are you trying to edit? Do you mean in the File Editor? Apple Loops can't be edited there, they're locked, because that actually alters the original file on the hard drive. So you have to make a copy to edit. But you can still edit it in the Track Editor, which doesn't effect the original file on the drive. Antidote Strings can't be edited in the File Editor, because it is an Apple Loop, but can be manipulated in the Track Editor and in the Workspace.

The only AIFF files are old iLife files, which came in both AIF and CAF. But they'll act the same, also.
