I forgot my iPhone 5 passcode

I forgot my iPhone 5 passcode & I want to give it away. So I erased and reset my iPhone through iTunes however I'm still unsure whether or not the new owner will be able to restore and access all of my old data. How can I be 100% sure that they can't?
