Mail - Internet Accounts Problem

Keep getting a popup asking to enter my gmail password in Internet Accounts but the password popup window only shows a spinning wheel. Deleting the account and re-entering it fixes the issue for a day then it comes back. This has only happening with my iMac, it didn't happen on my Macbook Pro... no spinning wheel... was able to enter password which fixed it there. Gmail support pointed me back to a Mac Mail issue so now I'm stuck... been trying to find a solution for a month.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Delete the password from Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities). While there, Keychain Access menu First Aid.

Already tried that, unless I missed a file... I deleted any keychain related to my gmail account... the problem keeps coming back.

Deleting the keychain and redoing it fixes it for a day or two then it starts all over. I deleted the keychain again and ran first aid and it's saying that my password is invalid. What would cause this to only happen on my iMac and not on my laptop?

Have you changed your user password? If so, try the old one.

I haven't changed it in the last few months. The problem email sends/receives fine... until the popup reappears, probably tomorrow or the next day, since deleting it in keychain today. Could my iMac be corrupting the keychain password somehow? I'm going to try changing the password to see if it clears it up.

I have the same problem. I don't see First Aid anywhere. I am in Keychain access.

If you are using 10.11, that option no longer exists.

I have a similar problem. Pop up states: enter your aol password in internet accounts. When I do that it shows "unable to verify the password". The password is correct as I can access my mail from the aol login screen. I've deleted it from the key chain...but nothing I've done has stopped this. Any suggestions? Answers? Thank you for your replies.
