Pixelated screen

When I open my MacBookPro the screen is sometimes pixelated. It autocorrects within a minute or so but I'm concerned that it's malfunctioning. How to fix?

Greetings cstief,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that when you open the display on your MacBook Pro, the image quality seems pixelated. To begin troubleshooting this situation, I would recommend working through the sections under the No video or no signal, image distortion, "snow," or flickering heading in the attached article.
