how can i make my new macbook air forget an old network

i recently bought a macbook air. i was using my home router but then i changed the password. it won't give me the option to change the password on the macbook. there is no option that says delete or forget this network so i can reenter it with the new password. please advise.

Apple menu > System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi in left pane > Advanced button > click on the network name and then click the minus button below the list of names.
