How do I prevent iTunes from playing music every time I open my computer?

I have iTunes version 12.2.1.16 & my Macbook Pro is up to date on all the automatic updates. Recently, after the last slew of updates, my iTunes automatically launches & begins playing music upon turning my computer on. I just turn the sound off now so that I do not have my AFI album blaring overtime I open my computer. How do I disable it from doing this?

In the "System Preferences > General" enable "Close Windows when quitting Apps".

And check, if iTunes has been added to your login items in the "System Preferences > Users&Groups" for your account. If iTunes has been added to your login items, remove it.

"Close Windows when quitting Apps" was already enabled. In the "System Preferences > Users&Groups" section under "Login Items" a box was checked for iTunesHelper, Kind: Unknown. I unchecked it so we'll see if that helps 😀
