artwork crash

I updated the album art for my podcast (Data Skeptic) on 7/17/2015. I've had listeners complaining that since that time, the Apple Podcast app will frequently crash when listening to the show. I haven't changed anything else about the show, how I edit, convert to MP3, or upload. I've validated that the new logo is a properly formatted jpeg file. I am puzzled to how a new logo could cause an app to crash. Could this be unrelated to my specific podcast and an indication of a more systemic problem?
