* New 12" MacBook & AppleCare Warranty

Hi

We purchased a new 12" MacBook at the beginning of July 2015 and it was purchased using my daughters student account.

Late last night, we received an email from Apple with an attachment which shows that it to be, "AppleCare Base Warranty Certificate for the HE National Contract".

It also states that cover is now in effect with 1 years phone support / Apple Applications Support and, 3 years hardware warranty parts and labour.

We don't remember choosing AppleCare cover during the online purchase and no mention of it was shown at checkout. What's going on here and do we have to pay for it?
