text tone missing

my text tone will not show up on text tones available on my Iphone 6plus

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), iOS 8.4

Are you sure that it's still on your phone ? Try syncing it back form your computer's iTunes and see if it then shows in Settings > Sounds on your phone

Yes the ringtone shows up on General, Sounds, Ringtones. But on text ringtones it does not show up.

How long are the tones, are they more than 30 seconds ?
