My Ipod 5 will not turn on and the home button is stuck

I have seen many questions similar to mine, but it doesn't seem to work with me..

Some answers were confusing for me and its worrying that my ipod will be a waste.

My home button hasn't been working for a while now, so i have been using assistive touch.

So one way to turn it on is holding down the on/off button and the home button, but with the broken button, I can't do that.

I left it charging for a full night, plugged into my pc, but still no response.

I want to be able to find out if I can do it at home before I go to a apple store.

If you know what to do, please answer clearly!
