Which Mac to Run DVD Studio Pro?

I need to get DVD Studio Pro up and running again but Ive upgraded all my macs to current versions which wont run it. So Im going to have to go back and buy an old mac just for this program. Yay.

So my question is, what is the highest performing or most current Mac I can get that will still run the most current version of DVD Studio Pro?

Side note: Ive recently joined up with an independant film studio and in addition to online digital releases we are also producing DVDs of our films (because most people still somehow prefer buying DVDs to other options). So in talking to many of the major DVD production companies I find out that they are still using DVD Studio Pro for all their DVD authoring services. I was surprised but they say its still the best option for DVD Authoring. Anyway, rather than paying them an arm and a leg for this service, we are just going to do it ourselves.

Anything that runs 10.6.8. That was the last version that was officially supported by Apple.

lists the OSX version that came with various model Macs.

If the Mac has an Intel processor and came with 10.6 or earlier then it can run our app.

The latest ones would be ones that initially came with 10.6

The key thing is the machine must be able to run 10.6.8. If it came with 10.4 or 10.5, it will still work as long as it can run 10.6.8.

Machines that came with 10.7 or higher will not work, as Apple, in their infinite wisdom, has made it impossible to run an earlier OS than the one the machine shipped with.

Great! Thanks for those responses.

So the stand alone version of DVD Studio Pro 4 should install fine on a Mac Pro (Mid 2010). Or will I need to install Final Cut Studio to get it running?
