Is Boot Camp USB compatible?

I am trying to install Windows 8.1 via Boot Camp on my mid-2011 iMac 21.5 inch 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5.

I have the Windows installation media on a USB stick, but Boot Camp on Yosemite only reads from CD/DVD?

Is there a way around this issue so that Boot Camp can read the USB and install Windows from there?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

If your computer came with an internal optical drive you must use that drive to install Windows using Boot Camp Assistant.
