broken macbook pro that won't load in any mode

My macbook pro 2012 has completely died, it won't start up in recovery mode, safe mode, internet recovery and all the other trouble shooting solutions. It gets to the apple logo and loads just under halfway, then just shuts its self down. I was wondering if i can reformat the hard drive to its original self using another computer in target disk mode, Just to see if i can finally get it to boot. any help would be much appreciated. many thanks

I would first try SMC and NVRAM resets:

If no change, Target Disk mode is worth a try..

The last option is an appointment at an Apple store genius bar for a FREE evaluation.

Ciao.

Try booting to Internet Recovery.Maybe the HD is bad

you may be able to force your Mac to boot into Internet Recovery by holding down Command+Option+R at startup.

You asked " I was wondering if i can reformat the hard drive to its original self using another computer in target disk mode, ".

Yes you can.

You can also try disconnecting the HD and then booting to Recovery to help determine if that is the problem. With no HD installed your Mac will boot to Internet Recovery if there is no hardware problem
