External Blu Ray Burner on New Mac without CD drive?

Ill be brief.

I bought an Archgon external blu ray burner. I want to use it with Toast Titanium 14. My new macbook pro does not have a CD drive and the external burner needs me to put in the disc it came with so my macbook will recognize it. Should I send it back? Or what option do I have so I can use the external burner?

Not great with the technical terms so any info/directions in layman's terms would be much appreciated. Thanks guys 😐

What happens when y connect the optical drive?

Will it read (and burn) CDs and DVDs?

Special software should only be required to read and write BluRay disks.

That software may also be included in Toast.

Does Archgon say it will work with a Mac.

Was it supplied with a "double plug" cable?

I have an LG SuperBlu Multi drive and it was supplied with a USB cable

that had two plugs at the computer end. One was the actual data interface

and the other was simply a power source. So, it tapped power from 2 USB

ports allowing it to work.

Personally, I stick with the major manufacturers like LG, Samsung, and Sony

and avoid "second tier" vendors.
