Q: How to connect remotely

So I have a MacBook Pro and a 1st gen MacBook. (2006) So I want to connect to my Macbook pro from my macbook so i can bring the not so valuable and expensive macbook pro and take my older macbook instead. I've tried to do it with remote desktop from the terminal, but it does not work. Anyone know how to help? Thanks!

I cant't use Back To My Mac because my MacBook (Not the Pro) is not compatible with Lion, therefore I cannot use Back to My Mac.
