When I try to update my ipod to 8.4, why Is always stuck on verify update?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the update but it did not help with the problem. I have restarted my ipod but that did not work either. I left it connected to my charger and auto lock off while I slept for 12 hours (screen with, "Verifying Update" on it). The next morning, it was still on the same screen as I left it the night before. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated. I am frustrated and can't figure out what is wrong/what I need to do to get the update.

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 8.3

It's not possible uninstall an update so something's off ...

It depends on how you are updating either using iTunes or iCloud > Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Try holding down the home and power buttons until you see the Apple logo. If that doesn't work, try Settings>>General>>Reset all Settings.

It's not possible to uninstall in update, but it is possible to delete a downloaded update before it is installed, which is what the OP is saying.

Thank you for the suggestion but unfortunately, that way did not work... I am going to attempt to update my iPod through iTunes. If you have any other suggestions of what I could do to try and update my device, it would be very much appreciated.
