Internal speakers not displaying on output nor headphones, only Apple TV

I have a MacBook Pro 2The internal speakers are not displaying under sound output in system preferences. When I plug in headphones, they do not work either. The only sound that works is through a usb output speakers and through apply TV mirroring. The red light in my headphone jack is not turned on. I have tried resetting PRAM to no avail. I have also tried fiddling around in the input and output jacks with a qtip, but that hasn't solved my problem either. Has anyone encountered and fixed a similar issue?

Hey Nikooru,

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the internal speakers are not showing up on the computer. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
