How can I adjust the column width in iTunes when the column lines do not show?

I am using list view in the playlists. Most of them still show the column lines, so I can adjust the width of the columns by clicking and dragging; but, in many of the playlists, the column lines are not visible and I have no way to adjust the width. As a result, I have columns that are so wide that I have to use the horizontal scroll bar to see all the info. In addition, I cannot organize songs by album, song, etc. since it does not show the names of the categories at the top of the list window. Can anyone help me?

In the upper right change from playlist to songs and then you'll be able to adjust the column width.
