I Can't get my iPhone 5c to backup to my iCloud account. It's not doing it automatically. Is there another way to do it manually?
iPhone 5c, iOS 8.4
Settings > iCloud > Backup > Back Up Now
It will also show when your last backup was below that.
have you checked in settings->iCloud->Storage & backup ?
When I get to the backup now I attempt to back it up & it starts to backup but after about 1 minute I get a message saying "Verification Failed the conection to iCloud timed out" do you have any advice for this problem?
There is a problem with your WiFi connection. Try resetting your router by unplugging it, wait a minute, plug it back in.
Yes I have. I've even called the support line before & they said I needed more storage so I purchased more & im still having the same problem.
Can you tell us all the things support had you try so I don't repeat what they did? Did they have you turn off iCloud and sign back in? Did they have you check for an upgrade for your router?
MY router is upgraded. No I haven't tried signing out yet. Really they weren't much help. They basically told me because my device was at 5.3 & my iCloud was only 5.0 that it would not backup. That I needed to purchase more storage. I broke down & purchased more storage yesterday & still nothing. I just signed out & signed back in & it's still giving me the iCloud connection timed out message.
So to be clear, when you turned iCloud off then back on and you signed in it gave you the connection timed out message?
Did they have you Reset your iPad? Hold down the home and sleep buttons, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.
Yes I logged out of iCloud & signed back in & received the timed out message again. Hold on & I will try to reset my iPhone.
If you received the time out message while logging back in there may be a problem with your iCloud account. Can you download and install apps on your WiFi connection? Surf the net? Get and send email?
Yes I am able to do all of those functions with my wifi.
Try doing the manual backup on another WiFi network. If it fails with the same message then there is a problem with your iCloud account. If it works the issue is with your router which could be blocking the port needed for your backup.
