Hi

My 2010 mid iMac has recently been acting weird. It tends to freeze & shut down.

I formatted the hard disk & even did a clean install of the OS twice.

But it continues to freeze & shut down to the white mac screen with kernel text on the top left. And other times it just works normally.

I did a AHT test with all rams in the sockets.

The test result was: 4MEM/62/40000000:0xb81f7d18.

But on individually AHT testing each ram I get no error.

Can anyone please tell me what seems to be the problem with my iMac?

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

I recently picked up 2X4gb rams from Apotop.

DDR3-1333 SO-DIMM 4GB PC3-10800.

The specs seem to match that required by this imac model.

Check again. The mid 2010 iMac requires EXACTLY

Memory Slots4 - 204-pin PC3-10600 (1333 MHz) DDR3 SO-DIMM

Remove the third party ram and test. Problem gone? Return the no name bargain basement ram and get quality guaranteed ram from either
