"Authorize" more than 5 computers-anyone get apple to allow this?

It can't really be true that Apple restricts "Authorized" computers to 5...surely if you call them they can allow more??

I have: 3 iMacs for our 4 kids, each now have their own laptops, my wife and i each have a laptop-all of which are Apple. So I've spent roughly $15,000 in the last couple years-not to mention the one that was lost (thank you Southwest Airlines for your terrible service)...and at least one that one of my kids has trashed.

Imagine trying to get all these devices to sync. All I want is to plug in the same login/password into each of these and share the same music/tv/movies that I am paying for for all of these devices.

Again, surely Apple can somehow authorize and account to have more than 5??

An account can only be authorised on a maximum of 5 computers iTunes at a time. You can try contacting iTunes Support, but it's very doubtful that they will be able to raise the limit (I assume that any increase would only be able to be done for everyone and not at an individual account level, and that it would require agreement from the content providers) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/

Hi HP Tulsa,

In years reading this forum, I have never seen anybody get an exception to the 5 computer limit.

Meanwhile it sounds like you are purchasing content for 6 people on a single iTunes account. Be aware that will create problems in the inevitable future when people are getting ready to leave the nest. I strongly suggest that you look into Family Sharing, and possibly set up some separate accounts for the young-uns:
