Hi,

I have changed my domain admistrator. So, I am trying to delete the mail account into the mail app.

When I enter into the Mail's Preferences menu and press the "-" sign over the account, there is an error message:

After that, I select "Open System Preferences" and it opens the Internet Accounts.

There is no such account into Internet Account, so I do not have nothing to delete.

By the same time, if I try to create the new account there is a message that says:

One thing to take into account is that the iCloud Account uses my other email address as user.

Maybe it is creating some problems. I try to delete it also and I can't.

I made some things that I have read as delete the Accounts.plist inside user/library/mail/v2/Maildata.

I am using an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013) with:

 

Processor: 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7

Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MB

Running: Yosemite 10.10.4

 

Any help?

    Back up all data. Quit Mail if it's running.

    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData

    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select

              Services ▹ Open

    from the contextual menu.* A folder window should open. From that folder, move the following file to the Desktop:

              Accounts.plist

    Test. If Mail now works, delete the file you moved and recreate your mail accounts, if necessary. Otherwise put the file back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place.

    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select

              Go ▹ Go to Folder...

    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

    Hi Linc. I Made it. When mail opens, there is no accounts there.

    In order to not mix all the accounts, I've tried first to install the problematic account. The same error of duplicate account pops up.Screen Shot 2015-08-01 at 12.16.39 PM.png

    Hi.

    I use imap mails. Some important mails are saved on my computer. All the rest are on the email providers servers.

    If that means you have no backups, then you haven't done what I suggested. I asked you to back up before changing anything.

    Are you asking me to make a backup of everyting? For example using Time Capsule & Time machine?

    Sorry for the elementary question, but tecnology is not my speciality!!!! (also english!!)

    It is not updated, but I can do a complete backup if it necessary in Time Machine.

    I think you would be better served by getting some one to help you in person. One option is to make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, if that's possible for you. I am not comfortable making any other suggestions when you don't have a current backup and I'm not sure what you're really doing. Good luck.

    Restore the Accounts.plist file from the last backup you have that predates the problem.

    Hi, I've solved the problem!

    When I've upgraded to El Capital, the accounts could be deleted.

    Except for that, there was not any way to solve it.
