Do I need to setup a second 5 GHz network to add a dual-band range extender

I have both Mac and PC computers, iPhones, HP Printer, Blu-Ray disc player and TVs in my wireless network. The network is established through a cable system, Modem and a 4th generation Airport Extreme Base Station. I need to add a range extender and have purchased a LYNKSYS RE6700 Dual-Band Range Extender.

Question: Do I need to setup a second 5GHz network in the Airport to add the dual-band range extender?

Please return the Linksys extender in exchange for an Apple AirPort Extreme or AirPort Express........which are compatible with your AirPort Extreme router.

The Apple extender will automatically extend both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signals correctly if it is located where it can receive a good quality wireless signal from your "main" AirPort Extreme.
