does anyone know why i am able to mirror my ipad on my apple tv but as soon as i press play to watch a rented movies it does not work ? Internet connectivity is fine and all seems in order. Thank you
If you rented the movie on your iPad you will have to view it there. In future, if you rent on a computer you can then use home sharing to stream to Apple TV.

As per About renting movies from the iTunes Store - Apple Support
You can also stream a rented movie from your computer or your iOS device to your Apple TV using AirPlayafter it’s fully downloaded.

Is that Movie fully downloaded on your iPad? Did you try to Airplay instead Airplay Mirroring?
Looks like they removed thay restriction earlier this year. Thanks for that.
