how do I secure my airport wi fi password?

By using the AirPort Utility from either a Mac, PC, or iOS device.
The following would be the basic instructions doing so from a Mac:
- Run the AirPort Utility.
- Select your AirPort base station, and then, select Edit.
- Select the Wireless tab.
- Enter the desired Wi-Fi password in the "Wireless Password" & "Verify Password" dialogue boxes.
- Select Update and allow the base station to restart.
