iTunes Match is off-I didn't do it - Aug 1, 2015

Just found that iTunes Match was turned off with no help from me. Do I really need Match? Apple says I do regardless of what I do about Apple Music (thumbs down on that-I buy CDs and rip them).

Altogether I wish there was a choice besides iTunes. Apple has made a mess of it and it is now too big and does too many things. I am constantly googling to get instructions or to find something in iTunes. Help! Apple! Simplification needed badly.
