Preview 7.0 started crashing!

I've been using Preview for a couple years on my newer Mac without any problems – version 7.0 (826.4). This morning (like I've done a million times), I had a screen capture from the clipboard, went to Preview to create a new image, then save. However, when I went to create a new image, a blank or gray image appeared – not what I just captured?? Then, I went back to the image I was screen capturing, captured it again, then when tried to go back to Preview, the app was no longer opened and had crashed. And continues to crash.

Besides running Disk Utility and repair permissions, I've read a couple older threads and attempted all of the "solutions" but none have worked (e.g. Re: Preview is not working well. How can I fix it?.; and, Re: preview crash).

NOTE: Preview does work fine when I log out of my account and log in on my wife’s account on the same Mac. Also note that I updated several of my Adobe CC 2015 apps yesterday – even though Preview worked fine for several hours after up updated, it has been crashing all day today.

Thank you!

If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.
