Mac keyboard function keys on Windows 10 not working properly

I have just updated to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 on my Bootcamp iMac and I noticed that I was no longer able to use the mac keyboard to adjust the volume, change the brightness, etc...

Would there be any way to get that functionality back? I use those keys quite often so it has been an inconvenience since upgrading to Windows 10. Any help would be much appreciated.

iMac, Other OS, Windows 10

1. Roll back W10 to W8.1 and wait for official W10 BC drivers from Apple.

2. Use System requirements to install Windows on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support and Boot Camp: Install or repair Boot Camp drivers or Boot Camp: Solve Windows support software installation problems .

I installed win 10 on my old MBP from 2009 for my wife (she doesn´t like osx). My MBP stays untouched 😉

Everythings was workin fine under win 7. After the upgrade, at first, keyboard wasn´t functioning either. But then i just installed the keyboarddriver from bootcamp 5.1 again (admin privileges). Now everything is workin flawless.

I use a Apple Bluetooth Keyboard with my Surface Pro 3. After upgrade to Win 10, keyboard worked but without any of the enhanced functions. I did the following:

  1. Uninstalled as many Apple related Bootcamp pieces of software (ultimately all I had left was "Boot Camp Services" which I couldn't uninstall, but whatever)
  2. Downloaded Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5640 (https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1721?locale=en_US)
  3. Unzip, and navigate to Bootcamp\Drivers\Apple
  4. In case of a fresh install, run BootCamp.msi (In my case Boot Camp Services was already still installed)
  5. Run "AppleKeyboardInstaller64.exe
  6. After reboot, all my functionality was back 🙂

Running a IMac late 2013 and just upgraded to windows 10 on Bootcamp. Brightness and sound could not be controlled from the wireless keyboard. I did a repair install of the drivers seemingly without success. After a period of frustration 😕 and a degree of poking around, I looked at the Boot Camp control panel installed on my taskbar. I selected the Keyboard tab and ticked and applied "use all F1, F2 keys as standard function". F1 or F2 seemed to call up Chrome for some reason so I unselected the option and applied the change. Whether related or not the keyboard function keys started to respond appropriately and I now can control brightness and sound from the keyboard 🙂

So just in case anyone else is struggling maybe this might help but I don't pretend to understand why!
