Hello! My daughter stumbled upon a bug in the Apple Clock app on her iPad mini.
iPad mini running 8.4 (12H143)
Open Clock app, set the timer (7 hours in our case), Tap the sound icon below the timer, now keep tapping different tones and the text size of the remaining time will continue to shrink, even beyond human readable size!

I gave the Clock app a look to try and duplicate the problem. I can't find a text box of remaining time, only a large cicle.
I See the same thing that your daughter is seeing.
I Set the countdown timer for 7 hours (and for 8 and 9 hours as well), selected an alarm and then hit set. Then I hit the start button. After the timer started counting down, I kept hitting the different tones and the digits on the timer kept getting smaller and smaller until it looked like this.
I Can actually keep tapping until the digits appear as a very tiny scrunched up vertical line that renders them unreadable just like you said.
Yep! How weird is that???
Thanks for clearing than up. When I first tried all I had was a dot after hitting start. Now I have the countdown.
What did I miss??? Please tell me. How did you clear it up??.
I honestly don't remember how I got the digital timer to reappear. I checked and it appears to be working properly now.
