My Mail Box will not open suddenly! I tried to open it in Launch Pad but that did not work. What do I have to do to get it to open as before?

My Lap top is an Apple Mac Pro with the latest operation system in iOS.
As to what caused it, IT JUST STOPPED OPENING!
I have not discovered any fixes otherwise I would not be contacting you!
