since I updated my iPad to iOS 8.4 I no longer have access to the itunes library on my PC. this facility worked fine before this update. In settings there is no longer
a home sharing login so something has changed. I have read elsewhere on a number of forums that home sharing music has been removed but Apple customer service keep insisting that
it hasn't and I should contact support. Any ideas

Yes, Home Sharing was disabled (either from an oversight or bug, or intentionally - we don't know) - but Eddy Cue @ Apple did come forward in one of his many client-facing tweets and confirmed that it is coming back in iOS 9. Here's an article and a copy of his tweet:
