invalid signature for update 12.2.1

I have a laptop and PC in the same office with windows 7 on both. The laptop is my main go to place when I need to sync or do anything with iTunes. I need to wipe my ipad mini cause a certain person forgot the password 🙂. It's never been backed up either to add insult to injury. However when I go to get this taken care of I am told I need to update my iTunes, to 12.2.1. I sit here and patiently wait only to be told iTunes has an invalid signature. So I restarted the laptop thinking it was more of a pc issue, and tried again. Quicktime installed just fine, but iTunes got the same error. So I moved over to my pc, opened iTunes, and attempted to install quicktime and update, they both error out on my pc as both not having valid signature. I am seeing that windows 10 is not working nicely together, anyone else that has not upgraded to 10 having any issues with getting this update so that I can restore my ipad?

Thanks for the help.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.

The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.

Your library and device backups should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

If the issue persists and you have a 64-bit system try the for older video cards version which is a 64-bit installer for mostly 32-bit code, similar to all 64-bit versions of iTunes up to 12.1.
