I have some older .mov files that were done in quicktime pro. I lost the ability to open these files when I upgraded from snowleopard to Yosemite. How can I access these files. Can quicktime pro x open them?

Open them in the QuickTime 7 player, VLC, MPEG Streamclip, or similar software.
There is no QuickTime Pro X, and QuickTime Pro 7 doesn’t add the capability to play any additional formats.
