Can I import NTSC DV into iMovie 10?

I'm finally getting ready to import all my old NTSC DV tapes from a very old Sony DCR-TRV950. I read somewhere that iMovie 10.0.9 might not be able to import NTSC DV, even if the camera supports a Firewire DV to Firewire 800 connection (I would connect to my 2015 MacBook Pro's FireWire-to-Thunderbolt adaptor).

Possible?

If not, I have an older machine running Snow Leopard 10.6.8, running iMovie 9.0.4, or even ancient versions of iMovie 7 or iMovie HD.

Also, what would be the best lossless import format for NTSC DV?

The answer (to my own question) is YES -- iMovie 10 flawlessly imported NTSC DV from my Sony DCR-TRV950 using a Firewire DV to FireWire 800 connector, attached to a iFirewire 800-to-Thunderbolt connector. Yea!
