Weird symbol files under Library>Preferences
This is a new Yosemite 10.10.4 Mac, but had total content of broken mac reinstalled on here via time machine. Are these old files I can delete? Or what are they?

If these are in your User library and .plist files, then yes, you can trash them - you must have installed something at some point that created those Preference files. Usually, any app creates one or more once you open it and start working with it/customizing it. Any necessary .plist file will be recreated by the app once you launch it.
Hi babowa
I guess they are in the user library. I went to Finder then on left pane selected Library then clicked under preference and those are on top before the other files start in alphabetical order.
If this is what you mean by user library then thanks I will delete those. One never stops learning!
Kind Regards
Anita
Just to make sure that is the User library, use this path: Finder menu bar > click on Go and hold down Option key. Library should show up > choose and then delete the .plist files.
