Project automatically reverts to old version

Spent the last two hours on iPhone6 os8 iMovie project. All I did was insert a photo near end of project I then pressed home bottom to check photos album

went back to imovie app and a whole other version was there.

CRazy insane what what just happened and not sure how to find my old project on iPhone. Can I find this other version on my iPhone.

no I'm not using iCloud or iTunes.

really basic question. What can I do to retrieve my completed project vs this version that came out of nowhere?

like an time warp occurred

please se could use some adVice here

SSide note the (modified on ) date is wacky after this crash says 11/2/25 vs 8/2/15.

Anyway to to bring back my 8/2/15 version?

Last thing im seeing is the project it,reverted to has 0 freeze frames and in my completed it had over 25 freeze frames but what is most puzzling is the crazy modified date. Not even close to current date?
