Recovered Photos - Already in other Events?

From an iPhoto mishap, I now have an event of "recovered photos" with 1000 pics. I want to know if there is a way to scan my other events and see if the recovered photos are already in other events, that is, are they duplicates? And if not, can they file them into proper events for me? I have 50K pics and 435 events, most organized by month.
