How can i get facebook app on my 3gs from i tunes

I have recently restored my Iphone 3gs. Now em trying to get face book app on it butt it is asking for updation to IOS7. where as when i check IOS it says its updated

Sorry but an iPhone 3GS cannot run iOS 7. You will have to upgrade to a newer device to use Facebook as yours cannot update beyond 4.2.1.

recently i have 6.1.6... butt before restore i have face book and other apps as well.. then why i do not have it now?

Beg your pardon. The iPhone 3GS cannot be updated beyond iOS 6.1.3.

The Facebook app now requires at the minimum iOS 7.

but i have checked my phones setting it is stating that software is updated 6.1.6... then why previously i have all the apps working including face book?
