Is this planned obsolescence?

This is a picture of my 5-6 years old Macbook Pro. It´s alive and growing....

I like the machine when i could use the touch pad, but now it is out of service.

Is this normal?

Old batteries that are failing will occasionally expand and if not caught in time result in what you have experienced. Expect the normal useful life span of a battery to be in the 4 to 5 year range regardless how much or little it has been used.


Bring you MBP into an Apple store genius bar and perhaps only the trackpad assembly needs to be replaced.
