Watch draining iPhone 6plus battery

I Have had an iphone 6 plus for 8 months now and it has been working perfectly, a full charge would last 24-30 hours.

now when i have paired my Apple Watch to it, the iPhone is now running out of charge after about 10-12 hours.

what on the Watch is draining my phone so quickly?

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Settings > General > Usage > Battery > Battery Usage > Battery Usage.

Most often GPS is the main culprit for battery drain on the phone via the watch.

Hi - here are some steps to try:

Quit all apps that you are not using on your iPhone (double press the Home button two times quickly, swipe left to view open apps, swipe up on an app preview to close it). These should only be in efficient standby mode, but it won't hurt to tidy up in case something is amiss with one of them.
Check that you don't have a Workout still running in the Workout app on your Apple Watch.
Restart both your iPhone and your Apple Watch:
- Restart Apple Watch: Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; Drag the slider to turn off completely; Afterwards, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
- Restart your Apple Watch - Apple Support
Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch and iPhone:
- Unpair your Apple Watch and iPhone - Apple Support
- This is very easy to do and will retain most of your data and settings, but some data will be lost (eg Apple Pay cards on your watch, calibration data).
- When setting it back up again, choose the option to restore your watch from the backup that is on your iPhone.
- Set up your Apple Watch - Apple Support
